The 5th edition of the Hydrocontest in Saint-­‐Tropez, France has been launched yesterday on a sunny day. 28 teams from 15 countries care competing against each other in the mythical Var city in order to win one of the 9 coveted prizes of the first student contest dedicated to the energy efficiency on water.

Clear skies, a large crowd in spite of the return of classes, engineering schools that make the show: the first day of the Hydrocontest, Monday, could not have started under better auspices! After 48 hours of intense preparation, marked with frenzy and doubt, the 270 students engaged in the 5th edition of the naval engineering competition organised by the Hydros Foundation were finally able to take possession of their playground, near the mythical port of Saint-­Tropez. Jérémie Lagarrigue, from Hydros Foundation, declared that he was "delighted to be able to hold this event once more in the sumptuous city of Saint-­‐ Tropez" to promote tomorrow in maritime transport.

These teams will compete during a whole week until Saturday September 8 in the Baie des Canoubiers to ensure their participation in the finale run on Sunday September 9 in the harbor of Saint-­‐Tropez to do their utmost to win one of the 9 prizes under competition.

Who will succeed the Haute Ecole d’Ingenierie & d’Architecture (HEIA) from Fribourg, Switzerland (2017 winner of the "light boats" category), the l’Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland (2017 winner in the “mass transport” category) or the National University of Medellin, Colombia (victorious in the "Long distance race")?

The answer will be given on September 9 !
