HydroContest 2017: A revamped edition

An increased number of participants, a new place to showcase the boats of tomorrow, new dates, this fourth edition will mark a true revolution for the HydroContest.

For the first time the HydroContest will be held outside the Lake Geneva’s shores. This year, the competition will take place in Saint-Tropez, 4 to 10 September 2017. The city of Saint-Tropez, already prestigious host of different sailing competitions, has entered into a partnership with the Hydros Foundation in order to push energy efficiency and innovation in the French Riviera.




The Hydros Foundation is proud to reveal that 30 teams are confirmed for the 2017 edition of this competition. For the records, the participating teams were 16 in 2015 and 24 in 2016. This increase is showing that the competition is growing as an educational all around the world. Four new countries will be represented on the shores of the French Riviera: Finland, Peru, Serbia and Turkey.

Jérémie Lagarrigue, CEO of Hydros Foundation, commented: “We are excited for this new edition, the fact that we will be in a new environment is stimulating for the whole contest.
