The boats of the future are back for this fifth edition of the HydroContest, student competition aiming on conceive, build and pilot a boat that has to be fast and efficient. Teams from all around the world will be welcomed in the Baie des Canoubiers in Saint-Tropez (France). 31 teams of universities will compete from September 2nd to 9th, a record for the HydroContest. 15 countries will be represented at the event: Switzerland, France, Australia, Spain, England, Croatia, Greece, Serbia, Norway, Colombia, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, Tunisia and Peru. A total of 350 students are ready to invade the shores of Saint-Tropez with their prototypes and innovative ideas.

This year, 32 teams of 15 different nationalities will be presenting their innovative solutions in the town of Saint-Tropez from 2nd to 9th September 2018 in the 5th Hydrocontest, with the final in the historic harbour as a highlight of the event.

Following on from the fervour of previous editions, with the support of the town of Saint-Tropez, the Hydros Foundation has made notable changes to the rules to make the event more popular and to focus attention on the use of renewable energy as an additional means of propulsion.

The Hydros Foundation is delighted to announce its decision to renew its partnership with the City of St Tropez for the organisation of the 5th HydroContest, a big university competition tackling maritime energy efficiency. The 2018 contest, which will take place in the Canebiers Bay, from 2 to 9 September, will be part of an ambitious project aiming to promote maritime innovation in St Tropez.

The 4th edition of the Hydrocontest in Saint-Tropez was launched yesterday on a sunny day. 23 teams from 13 countries care competing against each other in the mythical Var cité in order to win one of the 8 coveted prizes of the first student contest dedicated to the energy efficiency of water.
